Eagle Dunes has received great praise from many golfers since its opening. Golfers appreciate its elevation changes, well maintained greens and beautiful fairways. Golf Digest gave Eagle Dunes a four star rating in the 2008-2009 edition of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play."

2016 Sorrento City Golf Championship

The Sorrento City Golf Championship is single day, 18 Hole stroke play competition held at the Victoria Hills Golf club in DeLand , Fl. Professional and Amateur Male amateur golfers 18+ with a handicap index of 0 - 14.9, are invited to play in this City Wide Championship and and be crowned The City Golf Champion(s). City residency is not requirement for compeition and all amateur handicap indexes will be verified for competition. All Flight Winners will qualify to enter the City Golf National Championship, to be held in November in Orlando, Florida. Players will be flighted according to the following categories:

• "Professional Div." 18+ - Gross Champion
• "Amateur Champion" 18+ - Gross Champion, 0 - 2.9 Handicap Index
• "A" Flight Gross Winner 18+ - 3 to 6.9 Handicap Index
• "B" Flight Gross Winner 18+- 7 to 10.9 Handicap Index
• "C" Flight Gross Winner 18+ - 11 to 14.9 Handicap Index
• "SeniorS 55+" Flight Gross Winner - 0 to 5.9 Handicap Index

PARTICIPANTS & HANDICAPS

All male professional and amateur golfers 18 years age and over. Amateurs golfers wishing to participate are required to have a current USGA handicap approved handicap index, ranging from 0 - 14.9 (GHIN handicap preferred). Players with a higher handicap can choose to play to a maximum 14.9 handicap. All handicap indexes will be verified for competition. Competing format will be 18 Holes, Individual Stroke Play.

AMATEUR STATUS

All registered amateur players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. USGA Rule 3-2 - "An amateur golfer must not accept a prize (other than a symbolic prize) or prize voucher of retail value in excess of $750 or the equivalent..." An amateur golfer must not exchange a prize or prize voucher for cash.

ENTRY FEES

An Entry Fee must be paid by each Entrant. Entry Fees are per Player and include Range Balls, Greens/Cart Fee, Championship Round, Awards Ceremony &, Prizes for winners. Please see Registration Form for Entry Fees for each City Tournament. Entry Fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline.

Registration Form:

Players interested in entering the Sorrento City Golf Championship can click on the link to the Registration Form on the Site Menu Bar. Registration forms can be dowloaded and printed. All registrations must be submitted with an Entry Fee. All Entrants need to provide their most recent handicap when registering. A handicap index must be issued from a Golf Club or Association which is licensed to use the USGA handicap system. All handicap indexes will be verified for competition.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy:

If you withdraw up to Fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled date of the Tournament, you may receive a refund, minus a $25.00 processing fee. No Refunds will be granted, for any reason whatsoever, on withdrawals or cancellations, within (14) days of the date of the Tournament. In addition, no refunds will be granted for "no shows" or disqualifications.

Prizes & Awards:

Non-Cash Prize Vouchers for Amateurs.All amateur players receive their winnings in the form of non-cash prize vouchers in compliance with USGA® guidelines and the City Golf Championship Tournament policy. The amount of the first place prize voucher at each tournament is established prior to the event with the amount dependent on the size of the field. No Cash Substitutes for Prize Vouchers. First place ties are decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately after competition and continuing until the tie is broken. Prize vouchers for other ties are split as necessary.
